*For users who have upgraded CSIDE from Version2 to Version3
*For using Version3 together with Version2
*Restrictions along with functional expansion of CSIDE Version 3

* For users who have upgraded CSIDE from Version2 to Version3

For the users who have used CSIDE95 Version2 in the following environment, update of the interface driver is required before using Version3.  Follow the following procedures to update it.  If Version2 has been used in the environment other than those specified, or Version3 is the first CSIDE to use, this updating is not required.

Environment

Operating system (OS) Windows 98, Windows Me
Interface board PCI-IF02, PCC-IF02
Interface driver WDM driver

The WDM driver is not recognized by CSIDE Version3 in the Windows98/Me environment.  Make sure to upgrade the interface driver when CSIDE has been upgraded from the environment specified above to Version3.  Otherwise, nothing is displayed in the interface board selection screen.  Follow the following procedures to update the interface driver.  (When using Version3 together with Version2, see this.)

Set-up Procedure

1. Select [Properties] of My Computer to open the following window.  Click the [Device Manager] tab.

2. Double-click COMPUTEX-I/F.  The currently installed interface drivers are displayed.  Select COMPUTEX I/F board PCI-IF02(WDM).

3. Click [Properties] button to display the following dialog box.  Then click the [Driver] tab.

4. Click the [Update Driver] button to start the device driver update wizard.

5. Click the [Next] button to display the search methods.  Select [Display a list of all the drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want].

6. Click the [Next] button.  Then click [Have disk] for the driver to install.

7. The following dialog displayed.  Insert the CSIDE MASTER disk to the drive and specify the directory (\DRIVERS) of the CD-ROM.  Then select (ctexw9x.inf) and click the [OK] button.

8. The device selection screen appears.  Select "PCI-IF02 V1.03(Win9x)" from [Models] and click the [Next] button to complete installation.  Follow the directions to terminate the device driver update wizard.

9. Make sure to restart the PC after updating the driver.  If CSIDE is started up without restarting it, the interface board may not be recognized properly (or CSIDE may not start up).

- Follow the procedures specified above to update the driver of PCC-IF02.

* For using Version3 together with Version2

When using Version3 with Version2 in the  Windows98/Me environment, make sure to update the interface driver.  For the detailed set-up procedures, see this.  When using by switching between Version2 and Version3, the PC is required to restart each time Version is switched to the other.  Without restarting, CSIDE may not start up, or nothing may be displayed in the interface board selection screen.

* Restrictions along with functional expansion of CSIDE Version 3

Functions were expanded from the CSIDE Version3.
Along with this expansion, it is required for each operating system (OS) to meet the specified condition.  Restrictions on each OS are explained as follows.  Make sure that your OS meets the condition.  If your OS does not satisfy the condition, perform version upgrade for the OS.

Operating system Note
Windows95/98/Me Use Internet Explorer 4.0 or above.
Window NT4.0 Use Service Pack4 or above(SP5 or above recommended) or Internet Explorer 4.01 or above.
Windows 2000 None

* If these conditions are not satisfied, CSIDE can not start up, indicating errors such as [Entry point is not found] when it starts up.
