COMPUTEX Introduction of F-Sight

F-Sight is provided in: 2VP-PPC model supporting hard-core processor PowerPC 405 and MicroBlaze model supporting soft-core processor MicroBlaze.
Both models have functional capability to serve for CPU emulation and FPGA hardware debugging, not to mention configuration.
In addition, they support cooperative debugging by relating FPGA hardware debugging to corresponding software debugging.
F-Sight is the most suitable emulator for software debugging and hardware debugging of Xilinx-made FPGA delivering high level debugging functionality in simple environment.

Concurrent debugging of FPGA and CPU
F-Sight realizes total debugging environment for both software and hardware in one unit, allowing activities from CPU emulation to practical debugging by monitoring FPGA internal user logic in wave form, not to mention FPGA configuration.

Cooperative debugging
Allows cooperative debugging of hardware and CPU software.
Allows to correlate the software and hardware while checking the corresponding programme execution history.

Readback function
Shows the state of the signal in Inspect view when the mouse cursor has been moved to point the name of the signal output with location information on source file.

Probing function
Allows to add/register signal to monitor in wave form on source file.
The effect to the user circuit will be almost none since only the wiring will be added without resynthesis.
Allows easy monitoring of the wave pattern.

Debugging FPGA logic

Simple connection
Allows instant connection with hot plug USB connector for the host PC and dedicated debug connector for the target.

Analyzer Extension Probe (Optional)
With the use of optional analyzer expansion probe, another 32 channels can be added to analyzer channels.

Target adapter conversion set (Optional)
Conversion adapter is available for the target system not provided with MICTOR connector or for connection with the target system already completed.

F-Sight Target Interface

In the F-Sight target interface, all the JTAG signals, trace signals and the analyzer signals are put together to the 38-pin Mictor connector.
